A Guide for 2024 Brides: Top Wedding Predictions
Stay up to date by knowing all the wedding trends and predictions this year.
It’s officially 2024 which means we’re diving headfirst into the 2024 wedding season! Whether you’re a bride or just here to party, I’m here to share with you some 2024 wedding predictions and trends.
Ceremony
People are beginning to have more intimate wedding ceremonies separate from their big wedding party. Whether this be exchanging vows in complete privacy with just your partner, or having a ceremony on the Friday night before with your closest friends and family, it’s definitely something that’s becoming more common. By separating the ceremony from the party allows you to really take in the whole weekend piece by piece while also having more meaningful moments.
Many couples are also beginning to ask their guests not to take photographs during the ceremony using their cellphones. This helps to create a deeper connection with your guests to showcase your love, while ensuring everyone is fully present in the moment.
Florals
Flowers can be a true piece of art at a wedding, and that’s exactly what we predict in 2024. Flowers will now have “floral moments” that are heavy, have a pop of color and will speak volumes. Often times I like to think of florals as giving off the energy you want to bring to your party!
Bridal Outfits
As for bridal gowns, 2024 will be the year of simple elegance.
However, when it comes to bridal outfits for the events aside from the wedding, brides will choose to spice it up with embellishment.
Aside from the traditional white wedding gown, colors are in for brides in special wedding events. Personally, I love the idea of embracing non-white outfits for brides and allowing more freedom for what it is you’ll wear. Let’s face it - everyone knows you’re the bride no matter if you’re in white or not.
Film Photography
Old-school film photography that’s taken on a vintage camera or cell phone is the vibe that many brides are now honing in on this upcoming year. Whether it’s an edited photo or a disposable camera, people are looking for ways to be trendier by feeding in to this very specific aesthetic. Rather than just candid wedding portraits, couples want to be artsier than ever.
Champagne Towers
Every champagne tower is such a great way to enter a party. It’s fun, cool and calls for a great time!
Digital Invitations
I’m someone who thinks a paper wedding invite sets a great tone for your wedding, however not everyone would agree. Others may think it’s a waste of money given you can go digital for a fraction of the cost. In regards to this topic, weddings are becoming more expensive and couples are looking for ways to cut back, so it’s predicted that more people will take the digital route in 2024. Not only will this help save on the finances, but it’s definitely more in-line with today’s world. In fact, I bet you in a few years from now paper invites will be outdated, and digital websites will be in.
Some, like me, may opt to do half paper half digital. You’re probably wondering, what does that mean? I sent out hard copies of my wedding invites to each guest, however, I had each guest RSVP via email rather than sending it back in the mail. I was definitely hesitant about doing this at first, but now that I did it I’m so happy. Not only do we get the instant gratification by seeing it pop up on our cell phone every time someone replies, but our guests have also made it really fun for us by adding more text since it’s easy to type and attaching photos of us in the thread. Would highly recommend digital RSVP given how much fun it’s been for us!
29% of survey respondents like the idea of sending RSVPs back in the mail, 36% prefer email RSVP, and the remaining 35% could care less, so this really comes to show that it’s all about personal preference!
Smaller or No Bridal Parties
As I get older and enter this phase as a soon-to-be wife, I’ve learned the importance of my relationships and that quality over quantity is always the answer. With that said, I think that when brides go through the process of having to select who is in their bridal party, it’ll become more common for brides to keep it intimate. This allows for less stress the day of and more quality time with your closest people.
Other couples may feel like narrowing down is sometimes too difficult, so choosing the route of having no bridal party at all is the answer for them. I think this will become more common over time.
Content Creators for Photo/Video
It goes without saying that the world we live in today definitely involves a ton of social media. With that said, people care less about the traditional family portrait photos and are more focused on content creators to capture photos on an iPhone that you can share on your socials and enjoy in your camera roll.
